Crying Tiger Sauce

A few years ago I was in the Thai border town of Nong Khai which faces the capital city of Laos, Vientiane, just across the Mekong River, it was in a tiny but very popular restaurant there where I first tasted this version of Crying Tiger sauce. I've encountered many different versions of this sauce over the years, some good, some not so good. In its simplest form this sauce is just a basic น้ำจิ้ม "Nahm Jim" or dipping sauce. The Lao owner & chef was kind enough to share her recipe with me, thicker and smokier than other sauces of this type I had come across before, it became one of my favourites, hope you like it! A word of caution, this is one hot sauce! This sauce also makes it easy to prepare an authentic Laab Gai or Thai Chicken Salad, a classic Thai dish that is otherwise quite difficult to obtain the ingredients for to make correctly.

Tastes like it should

When we moved to the UK it was difficult to find a curry paste with any of the Thai flavours that you expect at the supermarket. We tried a few online suppliers and My Thai Curry was by far the best.

Crying Tiger to make Basil chicken is a family favourite and has just enough kick.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

This is really tasty,I cooked my beef in a slow cooker for a couple of hours and when it was ready added it to the paste, coconut milk M&S aromatic vegetables in the wok.It was ready in minutes,a great dish done quick with not a lot of cooking and prep to do.

The best sauces.

Absolutely delicious. Served it to a Thai friend who was very impressed. Sauces and pastes do not get any more authentic than these. Brilliant.

Southern Thai curry

Wow what can I say about this amazing product. It does what it says on the tin and delivers In every way.
Packing a bigger punch than Tyson Fury, not for the faint hearted. Can't ever see myself buying another brand

I live a sheltered life, had to ask my other half who Tyson Fury was, made me laugh:-)

Absolutely delicious

Ordered Panang Thai Curry Paste and Yellow curry paste to follow chicken satay recipe got to say was absolutely delicious. Will order again and attempt further recipes.

Midweek curries

We have got into the habit of a mid-week Thai Curry and these “mythaicurry” pastes really are brilliant. The easy to prepare and have both a good kick and depth of flavour. Ordering and delivery are very straightforward and the website has some great tips (e.g. choosing coconut milks brands) and recipes
