Panang Thai Curry Paste

A Panang Curry is a little sweet, a little salty and one of the few curries to use Thai basil. Most often cooked with beef but can also be prepared with other meat or seafood. Served with a thick coconut sauce, one of my favourites but often not prepared properly outside Thailand. Try it and see !

Best Thai Curry Paste in UK

I’ve been buying curry paste from Mythaicurry for some time. The Penang curry paste has the perfect blend of spices and the salt levels are just right unlike the big commercial brands.

Marinated Chicken with Panang Curry

This time I tried to do something a little different with the currys I purchased. I've made curry sauce with the Thai red curry and the green curry and they have both been wonderful. I wanted to try something a little different this time.

I used a package of Panang Curry along with a little bit of good quality coconut milk and made a marinade. After the marinate cooled down I placed it in a plastic bag with a couple of chicken breasts and chicken thighs. I marinated the chicken for a full day before putting on the grill to cook.

The chicken turned out very nice and had just a little bit of spice. I did not add any other spices to the chicken or to the curry mix. I will certainly have to try this again and I may try it with one of the 2 Chiang Mai Curry packages that I bought.

Even though I live in the United states, I'm willing to pay the extra cost of shipping overseas to get the best curry paste I can buy anywhere.
